Kirk Gauthier Death metal has never really been my thing. I get that it’s hugely popular, but I was too young for thrash and missed the initial wave of death completely. Doom and stoner have always connected with me, but there’s something about this album that hits a sweet spot for me. Maybe it’s the occult-tinged theme of tarot cards, or maybe it’s just the homage to that old, dirty, grungy style of death metal that got that whole sub-genre going. Either way, this album is really good. Check it out! Favorite track: The Emperor.

Redreigner Killer Death metal record. Loved the theme. Makes for a complete body of work. No overproduced bs here. These guys are true. Brutal yet comfortable to lay back, listen and focus on the music. Favorite track: The Devil.

Erik L Scarlet An absolute masterpiece Favorite track: The Tower.
Dr. Napalm
Dr. Napalm thumbnail
Dr. Napalm At times atmospheric at times brutal, this is a brilliant extreme metal album which manages to stay focused while at the same time being diverse. Every single track on the album is interesting in its own way. Great studd if you like your doom metal, death metal, black metal and thrash metal.
J&S

J&S What's not to love about a Tarot card themed metal album?! Amidst the more prominent thrash/death elements throughout this record is an eerie, pervasive atmosphere that binds the Tarot card themes to the individual tracks very effectively. Samples and FX are used to good effect to support this, and the mixing lends itself to this too, with some bassy reverb giving the whole album quite a live feel which only adds to the atmosphere. A really engaging record, give it a spin! Favorite track: The Magician.

The Fool 03:58
The Fool My resolve is dauntless Goaded by abysmal reflection On all that has been destroyed The sublime and the beautiful Exaltation’s full measure exaggerated in loss Utter futility soothed with implacable rage Fire with blood unleashed The scorching stench of clotted torrents I am overwhelmed Dissociated from myself No longer a man but nature’s vengeance No other end the compulsion grown resistless To dispense cruelty bestride a litter of corpses Deep in catastrophe’s grave I want you to suffer Self-loathing mine to share In terror you’ll forsake All for who you care Vengeance unto death Murder fit for murderers I want you to suffer I want you to dread

The Devil 05:05
The Devil Subversive ideas dropped from your forked tongue Impromptu rallies where grew your theatrical tirade Indignation teased by quiet assertions Into a harangue exciting my bigotry Then up close in conversation Your charismatic consideration Held in thrall Unchecked affection To monopolise your attention In your sun I should reflect your goodness And take some measure of honour for myself With what pain I win neglect Suffering your whim stray to better prospects Grief and shame Condemned as suspect Irreconcilable moral defect My zeal for the cause and for your esteem With reckless belligerence, turned murderous After the event your deceit betrayed Self-aggrandisement couched in noble disinterest You prey on the witless and on the conceited I recoil with disgust arraigned by my vanity

The Hermit 02:57
The Hermit My hate frustrated Endless outrage grown weary Idealism is exhausted Enthusiasm extinguished Pleasure with terror diluted Turned equally banal Bled of feeling stripped of meaning Only the yearning to decay Divorced from life's patient rhythm A fantasy of what's to come Wanting to disappear I face death without fear Their need oppresses me Stripped of anxiety Fit for atrocity I am estranged Utterly estranged See my mind devour itself On reason's tortured circle bent Emotions flared caste no impression And vomits pure apathy A dark inclination to maim A casual compulsion to kill Possessed with ambivalence Now the perfect terrorist Deaf to affirmation Without consolation Lost in conspiracy Their greed repulses me Martyrdom made clear

The Ace of Staves See Me! Sympathy! Sympathy! Spared for those resembling thee Blind to trauma you won't see Hungry for the death of me Empathy! Empathy! Grievous human fallacy Torn from nature where to flee From the slaughter to be What manner of fiend Alien and feeble (Into prospects turned feeble) Yet maliciously clever, corrals us? (Wherein death corrals) Enveloped in darkness Rusted stench of slaughter (Life wasted in anticipation of slaughter) Offal's faecal taint grown thick (Ended in unwept groans) Blasphemous geometry drafts us singularly Roused panic Fleeing dread Goaded to your end Unhinging panic resounded through pain filled cries Declaimed from the impervious face Tolling our fate On despairing instinct herded through the gloom (In the shade of cruelty's gloom) Following our kin to disaster (Courting our disaster) Abrasive stone surrenders in shortened tunnel (Liberty irrevocably shortened) Abominable surface slick with filth (Ethics compromised, mired in filth) Echoing into silence Railing pleas of the fallen Gaping weight of the slain Dark presage of slaughter Stench of blood Taste of fear Hot with terror's cold death Dressed to feed Bred in shame Glut with grief's final breath Enthralled by our appetite Embodying what we have consumed Empathy's wan effulgence splutters In resemblances' narrow spectrum Yet you alone imagine You stand without nature Sentience limited to reason Life become a commodity Industrialised killing satisfies gluttony Unfettered malice of the hungry ghost

Through diffidence affected Self-loathing's mask of hate A tremor of horror exposed To seize with furtive glance Sentimental sympathy Resemble more than we contend In hope common to all Of a life shortly severed When did you become The begetter of lies Condemned to die That truth might live? about

Aeons Abyss is a Death Thrash Metal band from Melbourne, Australia.

Terror Manifest, the band's 2nd full length release, is far from a typical death metal album. It is full of intriguing occult themes and subversion of expectations ranging from melodic death metal to experimental thrash grind. Expect an experience where technicality meets story as each distinct track reveals it's treasures to the listener.

Read an in-depth interview with Aeons Abyss about Terror Manifest on the Heaviest of Art website, here: www.heaviestofart.com/post/a-conversation-with-aeons-abyss

From the website, No Clean Singing: "... they’ve also drawn upon their skills as storytellers, with each track representing a card from the deck of Tarot and (as they reveal) delving into “what these characters mean, not just to the individual, but to all of society as we currently know it…. Terror Manifest explores what the world has made of us, and what acts of terror must be done to end the mental imprisonment thrust upon us by the greed of nations”.
