(“Assassin” is a mispronunciation of the term “Hashasheen” for “eaters of Hashish”, describing an 8th Century heretical Islamic sect whose initiates were drugged and awoke in a garden of earthly delights mimicking the Koran’s description of paradise. After several days indulging their appetites they were again drugged and removed from “heaven” then told they could only return after killing their target)

Phantoms materialized
Mounted demons wreak carnage
Venting bloody miasma poured in cries of the butchered

Ambushed through the storm on our blindness!

Raised high the scimitar awaits condensing shadow
Strikes its broadest girth to fell dead the marauder
Resistless sortie besets and subdues
The bitter milk insisted upon soporific silence

Enter the verdant paradise perfumed as a virgin’s hair
Where sinuous fountains murmur her mellifluous breath
Skin pale like the gravid moon
Her taut flesh a ripened fruit
Ineffable sweetness, bitterly resolved

Fallen to narcosis,

The old man of the mountain castes me out
