The Eloquence of Pity: We are never more persuasive than when our story is lamentable. “Eloquence” is a ballad that evolves through a guitar solo inspired by the Dies Irae of Hector Berlioz into Aeons Abyss’ first death metal and speed picking riffs. Originally titled “Suicide pact”, the re-write describes Lucifer’s fall into terrifying selfhood when confounded with estrangement from complacent beneficence, his frustrated suicidal ideation turns with rage upon the beloved and is salved only by contemplation of his own power that considers all else as opportunity or threat.
